Take a look in the work section of what’s new section for details of my most recent and forthcoming speaking and lecturing activities. However, the following provides a summary of what I’ve been up to during 2014:
Lecturing
In the past, I have done a fair amount of part-time lecturing on the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s post graduate professional marketing qualifications (for more information see the students section). Initially I did evening lectures at Richmond Upon Thames College – the marketing communications course, the planning course as well as the dreaded case study paper. Then I did a number of years teaching at Guildford University at weekends for Cambridge Marketing College. I also did evening classes for CMC for the Professional Services Firm version of the diploma in Canary Wharf.
During 2013 I went out to Frankfurt, Germany to deliver the CIM’s Project Management in Marketing module. I am discussing what courses I will be delivering during 2015 and it looks like CIM’s new course on innovation and entrepreneurship.
Conference speaking
I speak at all sorts of conferences – mostly on management in the professions – particularly for law firm management through The Law Society, CLT and Falconbury and also on marketing and business development. The PM Annual Conference and RICS is also on my speaking engagements list.
In 2013 I also presented a session on consumer strategy for the Motor Accidents Solicitors Society. And for Lawnet I produced a session on Return on Investment and KPIs. Working with Kevin Doolan of Eversheds, we presented a paper on “How does the marketing team drive the new client agenda?” at the Professional Marketing Forum conference in September 2013.
During 2014 I provided a keynote at the inaugural Estates Gazette Property Marketing conference http://kimtasso.com/property-marketing-trends-challenging-convention/and spoke on cross-selling at The Law Society’s Law Management conference http://kimtasso.com/cross-selling-dream-verses-reality/. I also provided talks on client and referrer management and thought leadership for MBL http://kimtasso.com/business-development-professional-service-firms-summary-mbl-seminar/
Training courses
For the PM Forum I provide a large number of half and full day courses for marketing secretaries, assistants, executives and managers and these are listed in the what’s new section. I also do a fair number of courses for Central Law Training (CLT) – from full day courses to one hour webinars. For Falconbury I work on the Three Day MBA for Lawyers. But the vast majority of the training I do – and there were over 30 such occasions over the last 12 months – are in-house for law firms, accountancy firms and surveying practices.
During 2013 and 2014, courses I ran for CLT included: “Developing a private family law practice”, “Managing a private client practice” and “Business Development for Lawyers”. I generally write a short blog about the most interesting points arising.
