I have just established a new psychotherapeutic counselling practice. Kim Tasso launches new counselling and psychotherapy service.
After completing training over many years I recently qualified as an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor. I draw on a variety of psychotherapeutic traditions such as Person-Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Existential and Cognitive-Based Therapy (CBT) – depending on the needs of my clients. A full list of my psychology and counselling qualifications is shown on the web site Tasso Talking Therapy.
I am accredited with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. I also have an enhanced DBS certificate. And I am an accredited mediator for interpersonal relationships. Unusually for a therapist, I am also a qualified and experienced professional coach so these services can now be integrated.
Whilst I work with clients of all ages, genders, sexualities and cultures – many of my clients are:
- Business owners, executives and leaders
- Professionals (lawyers, accountants, surveyors etc)
- Women at work (including issues relating to infertility, maternity, menopause etc)
And some of their reasons for seeking therapy include:
- Balancing career and personal life – making difficult choices
- Adjusting to a different culture
- Managing anxiety and stress
- Improving their confidence
- Dealing with low mood and depression
- A sense of “being stuck”
- Relationship breakdown
- Managing loss and grief
- Coping with medical and psychological diagnoses and disabilities
- Abuse and trauma (especially from Narcissists)
- Navigating major life changes
Sometimes people refer themselves to therapy. Sometimes people’s employers (human resources) suggest it might help if they are not subscribed to an EAP (Employee Assistance Programme). Some people seek long term therapy and others choose a shorter programme of just six or eight sessions. Therapy can be provided online or on a face-to-face basis at various locations.
People seek therapy for many reasons. But they all want a confidential, safe, non-judgemental and supportive trained professional to listen to them. To explore their thoughts and feelings. And to feel better.
During my training I spent almost two years as a volunteer working with clients at RCPS (richmond-counselling-psychotherapy.com) which is a not-for-profit organisation specialising in low-cost and long-term therapy. I have been a Trustee of mental health charity Home – Richmond Borough Mind (rbmind.org) for over five years. Volunteering as a Trustee with Richmond Borough Mind (kimtasso.com)
